Prayer Prompts

…My House Shall Be Called a House of Prayer for All Nations.  Isaiah 56:7b (NKJV)

You can now find the following two books to enhance your prayer life in the Solid Rock church library:

Becoming a Prayer Warrior: A Guide to Effective and Powerful Prayer by Elizabeth Alves

With “Prayer” being defined as communicating with God, Alves addresses how to both effectively talk with God and how to listen to Him as He communicates with us–a dialog with our Creator that goes both ways. She discusses the purpose of prayer and the various types of prayer. Attention is given to recognizing spiritual warfare, the enemy and his tactics, and how to use God’s armor while praying through to victory.

I Am a Church Member: Discovering the Attitude that Makes the Difference by Thom A. Rainer

Although this is a “little” book, it is a gem. It packs a strong message for anyone who is a church member or mission partner, as we like to be called at Solid Rock Christian Fellowship. Rainer addresses the attitudes and responsibilities God requires of His flock. We are not members of a “country club” but members of the body of Christ. The chapter on prayer encourages making a commitment to pray for our church leaders and their families.
