Young Woman’s Walk

Young Woman's Walk

Elizabeth George, popular speaker and author of A Young Woman’s Walk with God, has written many exciting and fulfilling books for teens and young adults. This “traveling with Jesus” book is a user-friendly, individual or group bible study using the fruit of the Spirit from Galatians 5:22-23.

George explains that the nine fruit of the Spirit are “qualities Jesus possessed–and He wants you to have them too!”

By paying attention to your journey with God, you’ll be able to: be positive as you interact with your family and friends; have peace regardless of the pressures of school and relationships; experience joy even when facing difficulties; find the strength to come through on your commitments; and get control over bad habits.

This study is easy and quick to read. Each chapter contains an interactive “Things To Do Today…” list and a “Would You Like to Know More…” mini Bible study. Both can be done on your own or with a group of summer friends.

The last of just three sections, “Getting Your Act Together” is especially helpful in understanding the discipline of self:

Faithfulness, gentleness and self-control are grace gifts from God that make it possible for you to triumph over weakness, impulsiveness, and laziness. When you walk by the Spirit you win over procrastination, stubbornness and unhealthy desires. So hang on! It may be a rough road to walk, but a pattern for victory through God’s Spirit awaits you at the other end.

This book is broken into 12 weeks, so it is a great way to spend the summer “growing more like Jesus.” Pick up the book in the Solid Rock church library.
